ABOUT Caroline

Hi! I'm Caroline Patterson, and I’m on a mission to bring creative, joyful learning to Pre-K children both in and out of the classroom.

I received my B.A. from Duke University, studying Theater and Education, and have taught extensively in preschool and early elementary classrooms.

I cofounded Bitty City Players, an early childhood and enrichment company based in New York City, in 2011. In 2018, my cofounder went back to teach in a classroom full time and I took over Bitty City.

The company was born out of a love of working with children using kinetic and artistic activities, a focus on social-emotional literacy, and the belief that kids are capable of incredible things when given the right tools and scaffolding.

The original programming we offer creates unique opportunities for children to explore the world through theater and science. Engaging in hands-on, brains-on, put-your-whole-self-in activities is the best way to connect to kids and get them excited about what they're learning.

After over a decade of growing the business, mainly through word of mouth, we have worked with schools in all five boroughs, providing both after school programming and in-school workshops that support DOE curricula.

Having expanded Bitty City significantly since its inception, running a full team of teachers and overseeing every aspect of the business, I am now ready to refocus my energy on what most inspires me: developing innovative curricula and teaching.

I’m excited to find new ways to collaborate with aligned organizations, sharing what I’ve built and benefiting from the camaraderie and support of people who share my mission of bringing creative, joyful learning to young children.

If you’re looking to expand, or would like to connect to explore possibilities, let’s talk!

I’d love to explore ways we can collaborate. Let’s find new ways to bring joyful education to young children for years to come.
